ambitious quilter might use twenty shades. Most will need no more than eight colours in a variety of sizes.
· Recently maintained Machine , dark threads, needles, etc.
· Small sharp pointed scissors.
· Small ruler (school ruler would work fine)
· Enough Steam a seam (or similar) to adhere the squares you bring. Make sure your iron-on adhesive brand
has a paper backing. This is essential to draft your patterns on.
· Mechanical pencil and eraser.
· Small sharp exacto type knife/razor
· White iron away pen (made by clover).
· Reading glasses if you use them.
*Make sure your fabrics work well together, and trial them on your background to make sure there is enough contrast for them to be visible. Surprisingly even medium dark purples, browns and greens often won’t be visible on a dark background.
