CONSEQUENCES
This was the first art quilt I ever made. Consequences was also one of the first two quilts I ever had accepted for a Symposium exhibition.
When I crossed my passion for quilting with my passion for God, this is what happened. The concept of quilting with passion was new to me, and was exhilarating. This quilt won first in contemporary quilts and viewer's choice in the Marlborough quilt exhibition. In fairness it would have won 'most disliked' if there had been a category for that as well. Listening to the commentary from people attending the exhibition was highly entertaining. It evoked raw emotions, in my opinion because it was created with genuine passion. This was the first of my quilts to tour in the World Quilt Exhibition. For a close-up gallery of the individual circles, (along with commentary) click on the quilt. |
