MY SON'S LEAVING HOME QUILT
When my oldest son was leaving home I offered to make a quilt for him. He suggested a double wedding ring, but I suggests that should wait until he had a wife to pick the colours etc.
Caleb chose the colours and the pattern. The only change I suggested was to substitute the white with a tan, since he is a guy and things might find their way onto the quilt top that would keep it from staying pristine. This (amazingly) is a variation of a log cabin with broad and narrow stripes forming the pattern. It was both machine and hand quilted. My younger son's quilt is a work in progress. It will be used as a exhibition entry, so won't be available for web viewing until 2015. |
