Grace's junior Queenstown symposium entry.
Grace was given this quilt as an assignment. One of my requirements for her home school years was to create a bed sized quilt.
While talking with Joyce Jones in Nelson, I had a good look through her book, Uncovering Traditional Quilts. The patterns were simple, full of variety and scope.
When I showed the book to Grace, she was drawn to Vintage Nelson and immediately dove into my quilt stash to pick the fabrics.
It was delightful to see her enjoyment in creating this quilt. Exciting also to have the quilt accepted for exhibition and win a Merit award.
