BEGINNER BAG NEED LIST
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS:
4 fat tenths –
1 fat quarter -these five fabrics should be coordinated, or work well together, but still have good contrast.*a hint for choosing fabrics, choose a fat tenth that has some zing, maybe a multi-coloured print that appeals, Call this youR feature fabric, then choose other colours from within that print. When all fabrics are chosen, lay them together and squint…if any two meld or blend together remove one and choose something with better contrast.
1 metre background for blocks – tone on tone, or solid- should be the darkest, or the lightest fabric – and should pass the squint test with the other fabrics.
These fabrics should be 100%cotton. Pre-washed and ironed. I recommend avoiding open weave fabrics (like homespun) or very heavy weight fabrics (like furnishing fabrics or denim). Directional prints, lines and plaids are not best suited to this pattern.
