Well, after putting together my class list, it occurs to me that the one and two day classes are intermingled.   The options? either leave them mingled or re-format.  (For me that's almost starting from scratch, but not quite.)

Sensibility won...many hours later the page is more user friendly and I'm happier.

Now onto the gallery page. Having swapped laptops and iPads and camera downloads to desktops a few times, finding the right photo is a bit daunting.  Note to self, label all photos in future.  Yeah right.

Nutty computer

So on this blustery cool day my nose is pressed to a computer screen.  This doesn't feel like quilting.
Loading the classes pages today.  Pages and follow up pages, headers images etc.  At least that will eventually help people make informed choices.
Next on the calendar is the Braided Ribbon Mini Symposium in Ashburton.  They have booked these classes: Mariner's Bliss, Bargello Baby and Tricks of the Trade intro.
Braided Ribbons Mini-Symposium has been very gracious to the tutors, with smaller classes of only 11.  Really, it's a wonderful thing -  for the students it means more individual attention can be given.  Have a look at their website here.

Blog intro and first posting

Intro:
Well a few years ago I would have thought 'blog' was the name for the collection of stuff that you find in the kitchen sink strainer.  Apparently not, although with some blogs the content might be eerily similar.
This new version of my website has been long overdue.    A brave fifteen year old put the old one together when websites had to be typed using intricate code (similar to the complexity of designing a computer program to disarm something nuclear).
The personal stuff that doesn't show up in my otherwise informative pages will show up in this blog or in the section marked 'fun'.
General information: I'm happily married and have four children. These darlings have been home-schooled.  Only one is left 'in the nest' with her beak in the books.  Two years to go - then like the others she will wing her way to a place of higher education as her siblings have.  Fly babies fly.
Quilts? : Well, yes this IS about quilts. So after that one time introduction:
*blog begins*
Yesterday a friend  from Ashrburton picked up my goodie bag donation to the Braided Ribbon's Symposium, 250 little packets with 3 five inch squares of coordinated fabrics.  What people will do with them is anyone's guess, but they looked so cute neatly folded in their little plastic zip bags. (Thanks Pauline M for the delivery!)
The Convenor informs me that all my classes have good numbers, so it's time to freshen up the samples, create some spares and begin photocopying notes.  Getting things together for four days of back to back teaching is always interesting.
Hilariously during these times of 'lots-to-do' times my brain tells me to think about a new project.  It's a peculiar stress relief, since I haven't any serious time to dedicate to the idea, these inconvenient ideas are like getting a sled in summer, no way to play with them, but don't they look like fun?
Quite without my urging the old brain keeps wandering back to a mosaic floor that I ran across online recently.  Wondering how that would be to put together? I doodle in mosaic now.  Besides having a zillion pieces this floor also has an odd colour combination.  Ideas like this one might spit out as a quilt in about five years, or by then a new summer sled might have taken precedent.  Back to building the rest of this site.
